对CIMA
Ciencia, Ingenieria, y Matemáticas Aliados (CIMA) is the 阿拉莫大学’ Alliance was formed in the fall of 2013 when St. Philip’s 大学 was awarded a Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Baccalaureate (B2B) Program grant funded by the National Science Foundation. CIMA is comprised of five of the 阿拉莫大学: 圣安东尼奥学院, 帕洛阿尔托学院, 东北湖景学院, and 西北维斯塔学院 and the lead institution St. 菲利普的大学 with the mission to significantly increase the number of underrepresented student who attain bachelor’s degrees in science, 技术, 工程, 和数学(STEM).

关于LSAMP
的 Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program assists universities and colleges in diversifying the STEM workforce through their efforts at significantly increasing the numbers of students successfully completing high quality degree programs in science, 技术, 工程 和数学(STEM) disciplines. Particular emphasis is placed on transforming STEM education through innovative recruitment and 保留 strategies and experiences in support of groups historically under-represented in STEM discipline: African-Americans, 阿拉斯加原住民, 美国印第安人, 西班牙裔美国人, 夏威夷原住民, 以及太平洋岛民. 的 knowledge generation portfolio of LSAMP supported activities contributes to the body of literature on successful practices in student recruitment, 保留, 持久性, and attainment of STEM undergraduate and graduate degrees, especially for the previously mentioned populations underrepresented in STEM disciplines.
学生的需求
- Must be a current student of the 阿拉莫大学 during the semester prior to participating in the program.
- Declared major must be in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field. Pre-professional Medical and Nursing majors are not eligible to participate.
- GPA必须不低于3分.0.
- 一定是U.S. 公民或永久居民.
- 必须年满18岁吗.
Note: Students accepted to the 10-week CIMA / LSAMP Summer Research Program will not be allowed to enroll in summer courses or work between the hours of 8am - 5pm. Attendance in all program workshops, field trips, and the symposium is mandatory.
